Voice & SMS Trading Data Migration

Project Overview

A specialized data migration platform designed to transfer and modernize voice and SMS trading data from legacy systems to modern cloud infrastructure. This solution ensures data integrity, compliance with financial regulations, and seamless integration with existing trading platforms.

Key Features

  • Migrated large volumes of telecom data from FTP/SFTP servers to a dedicated VPS using C# automation scripts, ensuring secure and reliable data transfer.
  • Built and optimized ETL pipelines in SSIS to extract, transform, and load multi-source telecom data into a SQL Server data warehouse.
  • Performed data quality checks and validation to prevent errors, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and compliance across datasets.
  • Standardized and unified telecom data structures to support accurate reporting and analytics.
  • Developed a dynamic ETL Rule Management Web App (C#, .NET Framework) enabling client to configure ETL rules in real time without code changes.
  • Designed Power BI dashboards providing actionable insights into global telecom operations, including call volumes, trends, and efficiency metrics.
  • Implemented daily internal reports using Excel templates stored in Dropbox.
  • Developed a Python script to auto-fill reports and refresh them every morning, ensuring updated insights
  • Created an external reporting page where clients could upload templates, which were then automatically emailed on a weekly and monthly basis.

Challenges & Solutions

The main challenge was building a flexible reporting system that could adapt to changing business rules and formats without constant developer input. To solve this, I developed a rule-driven ETL management system with a web interface that allowed clients to define and adjust processing rules in real time. This no-code approach made reporting highly adaptable, reduced development overhead, and gave clients full control over their data workflows.

Outcome & Impact

The client reduced manual data integration by 80% and eliminated errors from copy-paste tasks, saving approximately 10 hours per week for the operations team. This allowed them to focus on analysis and core business activities, improving productivity and decision-making across the organization.
