Headed backend team for Hoo Talk, architecting a scalable consumer intelligence platform with modular payments, dashboards, and secure APIs for social listening and analytics.

Led backend architecture and development for Hoo Talk, a digital consumer intelligence platform designed for startups to analyze, monitor, and act on online conversations. Inspired by Brandwatch, the platform enables businesses to track consumer sentiment, trends, and engagement in real time. I designed the backend architecture and models, built the full payment and subscription system (supporting plans, upgrades, and flexible feature toggles), and developed the dashboard module for analytics and insights. Security was a core priority, ensuring robust endpoint protection and compliance with industry standards. Collaborated with the team to deliver a scalable and flexible system ready for growth.
The biggest challenge was designing a flexible system capable of handling multiple subscription tiers, payment flows, and feature upgrades without creating technical debt. I solved this by developing a modular payment module where each feature could be independently activated or upgraded. Another challenge was securing sensitive endpoints while maintaining scalability, which was addressed through robust authentication, encryption, and API security layers.
The platform equips businesses with a powerful consumer intelligence tool that scales with their growth. By implementing a flexible payment and feature system, Hoo Talk reduced engineering overhead for new features and enabled faster go-to-market for subscription plans. Secure, modular architecture ensured compliance and reliability, while the dashboard delivered actionable insights. This foundation positions Hoo Talk as a competitive alternative to established consumer intelligence platforms like Brandwatch.
